We all make mistakes.
Hiding behind walls of regret.
Poor decisions, faux pas, blunders and snafus.
We wear blemishes and scars.
They are really beauty marks of survival.
Hold your head up.
Let the sun’s rays kiss your forehead.
“Stop comparing yourself to others.”
Folks who pretend that their world is golden.
But, guess what?
They have messed up, too.
Somewhere, along the way.
If only we could roll back the hands of time.
To reconsider our thoughts and actions and not be so impulsive.
But we can’t.
“We don’t operate in a counterclockwise world.”
Yes. There were moments we should have turned left instead of right.
Ventured north instead of south.
When we should have listened more instead of flapping our gums in the wind.
And, spoken up more instead of disappearing into the shadows and cowering in a corner.
And, loved more when we were bitter and angry.
“And, apologized more when we were stubborn and arrogant.”
And, lived more without begging for approval or validation.
And, dreamed more without being held back by fear.
And, forgave ourselves more instead of crushing our spirits into grains of sand.
Embrace the reckoning that comes with maturity and wisdom.
It’s freedom on steroids!!
It is what it is!
That’s my girl, right to the point. Perfect enough. LOL. xo
